Christopher Entertainment Corp. (CHEC) – it is an artistic organization which has been looking after promotion of Polish culture in the USA and Canada since the year 1985. Czerwone Gitary in lineup: Seweryn Krajewski, Bernard Dornowski and Jerzy Skrzypczyk and also Gdanska Kapela Podworkowa participated in the first concert tour. Than presentations of many entertaining programs started, where artists from cabaret Elita with Jan Kaczmarek, the Bolter band, Waly Jagiellonskie, Eleni, Rak cabaret, Masztalscy, Adrianna Biedrzynska, Renata Zarebska and Andrzej Zaorski have taken part in. These were programs which gained huge popularity: “Daj mi te noc” (1987), “Jozek nie daruje Ci tej nocy”(1988). Artists from Jan Pietrzak’s cabaret „Pod Egida” with Jacek Kaczmarski(1990) performed in famous show called „Pietrzak na Prezydenta” and then with Janusz Gajos and Wojciech Pszoniak they have played an after – election show – „Madry Polak po Wyborach” (1991). "Wlasnie leci kabarecik” which was full of famous stars: Janusz Gajos, Wojciech Pokora, Piotr Fronczewski, Marek Kondrad, Barbara Wrzesinska, Krystyna Sienkiewicz was performing for the Polish community from New York to Los Angeles. In the year 1988 the public could have watched TEY cabaret with their best lineup: Zenon Laskowiak, Bohdan Smolen, Janusz Rewinski, Krzysztof Jaslar and Rudi Shubert for the first time. They were also accompanied by Zbigniew Gorny’s orchestra. Thanks to invitations from CHEC the bands like: Kombi (1987), Bajm (1989, 2003, 2005), Republika with Grzegorz Ciechowski (1990), Lady Pank (1988), Lombard with Malgorzata Ostrowska (1989), Zuki (1989), Vox (1998), Anita Lipnicka (1997), Big Cyc (1997), Brathanki (2000), Krywan, Stare Dobre Malzenstwo, Lzy, Blue Café, Pod Buda – had their chance to visit USA. At the turn of 80/90’s the dance music played by European bands was holding the first places. Concerts of Bad Boys Blue (1993, 1994), which were sponsored by CHEC, showed in the Oak Theatre interested not only crowd of Polish but also Americans. Performances of Savage (1989) had opened the star meetings of Fancy, Gina T and Boney M (1990). Also Edyta Gorniak performed for the Polish community in Chicago and New York – Webster Hall in the year 2000. In CHEC's work, there is also a place for jazz music, classical music and also poetry songs. Unique concerts in Shubert Theatre in Chicago, Tribeca Performing Arts Center in New York, John Basset Theatre in Toronto (Ewa Demarczyk – 1994) also in Atheneum Theatre in Chicago and in Symphony Space on Manhattan (Marek Grechuta with Anawa band – 1998). Abroad voyages of these famous artists were ended by the concert tour through the USA and Canada in 2001. Anna Maria Jopek and Anna Szalapak (star of “Piwnica pod Baranami”) were also enthusiastically accepted. In the biggest churches in Chicago a great music performance – “Nieszpory Ludzimierskie” of Jan Kanty Pawluskiewicz was showed. It was tribute to Matka Boza Ludzimierska. Stars like: Mariusz Smolij and his orchestra, Chicago’s choir, Jagna Jedrzynska, Beata Rybotycka, Grzegorz Turnau, Jacek Wojcicki, Zbigniew Wodecki and Justyna Steczkowska were also there (1999, 2000). We can’t forget also about several American concerts of Panstwowy Zespol Piesni I Tanca “Slask”. There were also theatre performances: “Zapiski wiezienne” (1992) directed by Jan Machulski and based on Cardinal Wyszynski’s diaries, “Czerowny Stoliczek” with Daniel Olbrychski and directed by Andrzej Strzelecki. Shows like: “Kochajmy sie” with Anna Dymna, Jan Englert, Mariusz Benoi, Katarzyna Figra and “Zemsta” with Marian Kociniak, Mariusz Dmochowski, Wiktor Zborowski, Marian Opania, Joanna Trzepiecinska, also – “Apetyt na Czeresnie” with Anna Romantowska and Krzysztof Kolberger, “Krzesla” with Jonesco, Nina Andrycz, Ignacy Gogolewski also monodramas: “Shirley Valentine” and “Biala Bluzka” with Krystyna Janda were presented. In the “Chicago Year”, which was announced by UNESCO, stars appeared playing the Chopin’s music. We could have met there Helena Czerny Stefanska and Boguslaw Kaczynski. In the year 2005, in the Pickwick Theatre, Grazyna Brodzinska and Dariusz Stachura sang beautiful operetta arias with Janusz Senta’s accompaniment. For the first time in the history of Polish show business in the USA – Michal Wisniewski with his band “Ich Troje” played in the prestigious hall of Rosemont Theatre in Rosemont (2003). That group had also been on the biggest tour in the year 2006 during which they have visited almost 27 Polish communities in the USA and Canada. The year 2006 was ended with concerts of Doda and Virgin as also with Wilki. 2007 began with a Ball hosted by "Wietrznego Radia" 1080 AM honoring successful Poles in the Polish community. Krzysztof Zakreta was awared the title of "Businessman of the Year" for his accomplishment within Christopher Entertainment. “Ich Troje” started off the year 2007 with a 64 day concert tour in USA and Kanada and finished with a beautiful wedding reception and concert in Las Vegas, Nevada. SDM followed with concerts soon after in March. The summer started with Bajm and Beata who performed at the Pickwick Theatre, Park Ridge,IL.
